APRA is seeking an experienced Test Analyst to manage, design, implement, and execute automated test cases to identify data quality defects and to ensure data, ETL and development meets our data quality standards.


The Team


This role is part of the Chief Data Office function and embedded within the Business & External Data Reporting team.

Some initiatives will see you working in blended teams, oriented around data products or delivery streams.


Key accountabilities


This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate representation of regulated entities data and its use for internal and external reporting.

Analysing existing testing processes to seek opportunities to simplify, automate and gain efficiencies in testing solutions.

  • As part of an agile squad contribute to delivering test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases
  • Execute test cases manually or by using automated testing tools
  • Ability to generate and provision data files and data sets to consuming parties and systems for the purposes of testing in integration and data migration tests
  • Identify, document, and prioritise defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution
  • Automate testing processes in a repeatable and efficient manner where possible
  • Challenging the status quo and seeking opportunities to simplify testing processes.

About you

  • Experience in analysing and presenting data using standard tools (Excel, SQL Server, SSIS, PowerBI, data warehouse architecture)
  • Prior experience with testing large volumes of data running into hundreds millions of rows
  • Proficiency in Functional and Non-Functional Testing, with ability to lead the process from start to finish
  • Prior experience in automating testing and use of automation tools and test management tools such as Azure test Plans
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical and communication skills
  • Existing Baseline security clearance (or higher) or be eligible to complete a Baseline security clearance.
