Your new role


As an Insurance Claims Officer your primary role is to support the operational management of permanent incapacity and death claims review and decision process, and claim sign off.

You will be the SME and key contact for all internal and external stakeholders to liaise on permanent incapacity and death claim matters.

Some key responsibilities but not limited to;

  • Support the team in responding to internal and external insurance claim queries and complaints
  • Lead the review and decisionmaking process of terminal illness and permanent incapacity release recommendations
  • Assist the team with the review and decision making process of death claims
  • Oversight of claim recommendations ensuring they are complete, accurate and contain the necessary information for a determination to be made
  • Support the management of unclaimed moniesprocess to assist with insuranceclaim cases being finalised
  • Ensure claims register is accurately maintained and claimants are advised of decisions with appropriate explanation
  • Work with stakeholders in reviewing businessrules and standardletters to ensurethey correctly reflect legislation and agreed processes

What you'll need

  • 3 years+ experience within a similar role in an administrator or in superannuation insurance capacity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to proofread and offer guidance
  • RG146 accreditation, desirable
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to work autonomously
  • Meticulous attention to detail and drive to deliver excellent outcomes
