National Aluminum operates three aluminum extrusion lines, two advanced anodizing plants, two Horizontal Paint lines, and a state-of-the-art Vertical Paint line.

About The Role
National Aluminum is excited to offer opportunities for a Maintenance Fitter position at our Dandenong South site.

The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for various manufacturing tasks, including:

  • Operating aluminum extrusion machines and auxiliary equipment
  • Addressing general breakdowns
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and determining appropriate solutions for faults/issues
  • Interpreting hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical diagrams
  • Disassembling and assembling machinery as needed
  • Conducting welding, machining (mill & lathe), and fabrication tasks

About the Shifts
Monday - Friday 38 hours per week
Day shift - 7:00am - 3:00pm
Afternoon shift - 3:00pm - 11:00pm + 15% Shift Loading
Night Shift - 11:00pm - 7:00am + 30% Shift Loading

Weekend Role 38 hours per week
Day shift - 7:00am - 3:00pm

Saturday and Sunday full days required, any 3 recurring weekdays can be chosen to make up the rest of the hours.

About you - Skills & Experience

  • Strong focus on safety
  • Minimum of two years recent experience as a maintenance fitter in a manufacturing environment
  • Trade qualification(s)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Positive mindset with a preference for hands-on work
  • Availability to work some weekends

Highly Desirable

  • Current forklift license (LF)
  • Understanding of PLC is advantageous
