Policy Advisor - Sick Pay Guarantee
- _Salary: $91,418 to $103,725 (Plus Superannuation)_
- _Fixed term role: until 28 June 2024_
- _Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)_
- _Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne CBD _(flexibility may be available)_


The Role


The Policy Advisor - Sick Pay Guarantee will support the development of complex policy analysis, frameworks and guidelines, and undertake advanced research and strategic analysis to support the implementation and future directions of the Sick Pay Guarantee scheme.


The Sick Pay Guarantee scheme offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Policy Advisor to work on piloting a major Australian-first policy reform initiative.

This is a fast-paced role in a small, high-performing team that offers exposure to a broad range of policy and implementation issues.


Key accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with a small, highperforming team to support advanced policy research and analysis, including investigating and critically analysing issues relating to the future direction of the Sick Pay Guarantee within a fastpaced program.
  • Support the development of complex policy analysis and advice, guidelines, frameworks and other materials to assist with the implementation and operation of the Sick Pay Guarantee scheme.
  • Analyse and monitor implications of Victorian, Commonwealth, other state legislation, and policy developments more broadly in the context of the Sick Pay Guarantee scheme.
  • Seeking a challenge with a growth mindset while thriving in a complex and fastpaced environment.

The Team


The position of Policy Advisor - Sick Pay Guarantee is within the Sick Pay Guarantee unit, which forms a part of the Business Operations and Digital Services branch within the Employment and Small Business group.


About You

You will have demonstrated experience in:

  • Complex policy analysis, stakeholder management
  • Providing recommendations based on robust evidence
  • Sound conceptual and analytical approaches to support recommendations and decisionmaking
  • Strong planning and organisation skills
  • Preparation of briefs, research reports and formal government correspondence
  • Understanding of government processes and requirements.
