  • Develop and operationalise communications strategies and provide leadership to the Agency's government and corporate communications program.

Tourism Tasmania is looking for a talented communications manager who enjoys developing and operationalising communications strategies and can provide leadership to the Agency's government and corporate communications program.


You will support the Office of the CEO to drive effective strategies that engage key stakeholders and communicate the value of the Agency's activities.


You are confident in your attention to detail and processes, supported by your ability to drive collaborative outcomes through effective interpersonal skills and asking questions to understand.


You remain poised under pressure and are able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders and in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What you'll be responsible for:


  • Driving the agency's corporate communications program including leading and managing statutory reporting requirements, Ministerial and secretariat functions and agency publications.
  • Providing authoritative advice and judgement that supports the Office of the CEO and contributes to the management of issues, stakeholder communications and supports critical incident communications.
  • Supporting the development, implementation and delivery of strategic communications and engagement planning for agency programs across teams including tracking outcomes and performance.
  • Effectively managing and increasing engagement with the Agency's corporate communication channels, including website development and content, industry newsletters and corporate social media platforms.

What you'll work on:


  • Providing leadership and support that drives the development of strategic communications plans to support the Agency's business objectives and communicates the role of Tourism Tasmania and its activities to key stakeholders including government, industry and community.
  • Overseeing the ongoing development of the agency's corporate communication channels including the Tourism Tasmania corporate website and support the delivery of effective strategies to maximise the reach of messaging across all channels.
  • Using discretion and judgement to provide communications support to the CEO, Minister for Tourism and Government Media Unit, including responsibility for the preparation of corporate and ministerial documents, speaking notes, presentations, media releases, speech notes, correspondence and corporate publications in consultation with Director, OCEO.
  • Working closely with the OCEO team and stakeholders to provide specialist communications advice and planning across the agency including leading the delivery of critical incident and emergency communications as required.
  • Delivering outcomesbased project and budget management activities to support the delivery of key programs.
