The National Archives is seeking enthusiastic storage and lending officers to support the Storage and Lending Team, Collection Operations Section.

This section is part of the Collection Management Branch and is based in Mitchell, Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

The Collection Management Branch is responsible for setting information management requirements for Australian Government agencies, and selecting, managing and preserving the National Archives' collection so it remains accessible for future generations.

The Branch develops policies and systems as well as provides services, undertakes research, and plans and implements projects relating to the care, management and accessibility of archival records.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Baseline with the ability to obtain Negative Vetting 1 or Negative Vetting 2 (depending on the role requirements).

Requirements:

Operational roles in this Section require physical fitness, more specifically the capacity to lift a stable weight of 7 kilograms to shoulder height readily.

Positions that involve significant manual handling require a higher level of physical stamina and capability.

You may be asked to complete a questionnaire, as part of the recruitment process, to substantiate your fitness for duty.

This questionnaire will be provided to those short-listed for interview and provides an insight into the activities of the Section.
