About the role:


The Victoria Police Medical Advisory Unit provides expert occupational health services and advice to support the operational and recruitment activities of Victoria Police.

The unit is a multi-disciplinary team currently consisting of Doctors, Nurses, Psychologists, Administrative staff and Sworn Police.


The main duties of the Medical Advisory Unit are:

  • Directions to Attend the Police Medical Officer (for fitness for duty assessments).
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing.
  • Medical Advice Line.
  • Recruitment and Specialists Group medicals.
  • Psychologist assessments and interviews for Police, Protective Services Officer and Police Custody Officer applicants.


The Administrative Support position is an integral part of the administration team within the Medical Advisory Unit, which provides high quality administration to the Division for the provision of clinical services.

Your duties will include:


  • Administrative functions across all streams managed by the Medical Advisory Unit and Drug and Alcohol Testing Unit.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Provide high quality support to the Police Medical Officers, Nurses, Psychologists and Management team in a variety in administrative tasks including following up on medical reports, scheduling and appointments.
  • Accurate record keeping of manual and computerised records.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Exceptional Communication skills.
  • Ability to use initiative working both autonomously and part of a team.
  • Highly developed Administration and Microsoft Suite skills.

Requirements and relevant information:


  • One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
