The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is a world class specialist hospital in eye and ear care providing services across Victoria.

As Australia's only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital, the Eye and Ear has been providing care for the senses for 150 years.

The Eye and Ear has almost 60 different outpatient clinics for the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of vision and hearing loss and provides a 24-hour emergency eye and ear, nose and throat service.

Every year the Eye and Ear cares for over 220,000 patients, with over 160,000 outpatients, nearly 44,000 emergency patients and over 17,000 inpatients.

The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment to create a modern internal structure and to improve access for patients, visitors and staff.

About the Role

Finance Officer - Full Time (Ongoing)


The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join the hospital's Financial Accounting Team.


This full time, ongoing role is responsible for supporting the Financial Accountant in all aspects of financial accounting and related controls for the hospital.

The role has primary responsibility for processing daily bank transactions, supporting the accounts payable and payroll disbursements functions, processing journals and completing reconciliations.

Experience within a similar role in the Victorian public health sector will be highly regarded.

Selection Criteria


Essential:
Substantial experience in bookkeeping or finance officer role(s)

Essential:
Analytical and general ledger management skills

Essential:
Ability to contribute to a supportive team culture and provision of excellent standards of customer service

Desirable:
Certificate or higher level qualification in accounting or bookkeeping

Desirable:
Experience within a similar role within the health sector
