The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is a statutory body of the Queensland Government established under the Education (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority) Act 2014.

In collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders and partner agencies, the QCAA plays a critical role in the design and delivery of education in Queensland.

The QCAA is responsible for kindergarten guideline and senior secondary syllabus development, and for providing resources and services to help teachers develop curriculum, teaching and learning programs from kindergarten to Year 12.

It also provides testing, assessment, moderation, certification, and vocational education and training services to Queensland's education community.

Your team:
Office of the CEO

The office of the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for providing high level support to the Chief Executive Officer and other senior leaders and leads administrative support staff across the organisation in the development and implementation of efficient work practices.

Main Responsibilities

Support the management of the day-to-day workflow activities of the Office of the CEO and three Executive Directors in line with established priorities, monitor important issues, following up actions and ensuring senior staff are well-informed.


  • Provide a high level of confidential executive, administrative, secretarial and project support to the SESO, the Chief Executive Officer and three Executive Directors.
  • Support tracking of all incoming and outgoing correspondence and document management through QCAA's electronic document management system.
  • Undertake a variety of executive support activities related to the senior executives' activities, including internal and external meetings, workshops, delegations, conferences and other corporate events, including meeting minutes, coordination and distribution of meeting papers and other logístical matters as required.
  • Assist in the timely preparation of reports, briefing materials, meeting papers and advice with senior managers across QCAA.
  • Provide executive and administrative support to other QCAA executives and senior managers when required, and when the priorities of the Office of the CEO permit.
  • Provide a quality assurance role across a range of written communication material, including reports, correspondence, briefing and meeting papers and other documents in line with the QCAA corporate style guide and templates.
  • Provide support in relation to a range of activities, including finance, purchasing and human resource management activities.
  • Research issues as required by the SESO to the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Executive Officers.
  • Assist in managing specific projects and activities as required.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and continual review of executive and administrative support systems, procedures and practices across QCAA, with a focus on innovation and the use of technology.
  • Assist in mentoring and training of administrative support staff from across QCAA to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of organisationwide systems and procedures.
  • Contribute to the overall coordination of administrative support staff across QCAA to support the development of their knowledge and skills.
  • Liaise with staff across the organisation as necessary on issues relating to QCAA core business.
