The Project Officer Spatial Data Analyst

  • Forest Protection Survey Program (FPSP) manages the program data management systems e.g. SQL database, Geocortex, ArcGIS and FME, manages acquisition and quality assurance of data, and leads the analysis and reporting of data for development of survey scheduling, and program reporting. The position liaises with VicForests, other DEECA spatial analysts, technical data specialists and data managers, and relevant scientific and technical experts. The position will be required to prepare data management protocols and operating procedures and a variety of FPSP reports.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in spatial data or data science, or similar is desirable.
  • Experience and expertise in data management in the context of forest, conservation management, biodiversity survey, biodiversity research or other natural resource management context is desireable.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 August 2024. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
