The successful operations and effectiveness of the warehousing and logistics operations within each of the 197 retail complexes is a critical factor to the success of each franchisee.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a National Warehousing Development Manager to join our franchisor National Operations team at Homebush West in supporting the success of each franchisee.

Reporting to the General Manager of Operations, you will oversee the monitoring and evaluation of the compliance and performance of the warehouse functions of each franchisee, lead a core team responsible for Transport, Projects and Warehouse Operations (reporting line of group of experienced Regional Managers) and, most critically, be responsible to identify, develop and implement strategic initiatives that assist and encourage franchisees to effectively develop and manage their warehouse functions.


You will:


  • Identify and objectively assess warehouse solution options involving technology and/or process improvements and make recommendations to franchisees to increase efficiency, improve customer satisfaction and provide better quality information for decision making;
  • Facilitate innovation and continuous improvement initiatives via the identification and implementation of warehouse opportunities which support franchisee operational excellence and drive measurable improvements;
  • Project manage resources and act as a primary change agent to ensure completion of required initiatives and overall compliance with warehouse policies and procedures;
  • Assist Franchisor State and Regional Managers to drive outcomes to improve performance against objectives, proactively make recommendations for improvement targets and Measure / Monitor Warehouse Statistics & KPI's for successful delivery;
  • Establish close working relationships with Franchisees, Senior Executives, Customer Experience & Supply Chain teams to support overall business objectives.

To be successful, you will bring with you:

  • Previous hands-on operational experience managing a warehouse and/or logistics, ideally in a big-box fast-paced retail environment or similar;
  • Previous experience in an operational role with extensive warehouse knowledge, managing or overseeing multiple sites and dealing with people management, cost control, and operational efficiency improvements;
  • Project management and communication skills obtained from developing and leading large scale projects;
  • Sound commercial acumen with a strategic focus and an understanding of the business impact of decisions, particularly relating to capital assets, process reliability, customer satisfaction and compliance standards;
  • A commitment to delivering to the needs of the customer, both internal and external;
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills at all levels of an organisation;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Production, Manufacturing or Operations will be highly regarded.
