AWN Insurance (Australian Warranty Network) is a leading supplier of automotive vehicle breakdown insurance and roadside assistance products.
They are seeking to employ an Assistant Claims Manager to join their busy staff at Tanah Merah, in Brisbane's southern suburbs.
AWN offers security of tenure, career advancement opportunities, an excellent salary and a friendly working atmosphere. The role is a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday only, and includes 2 hours overtime. In this role, you will provide specialised claims assessment services to AWN Insurance and its related companies.You will also play a crucial role in monitoring and supervising the Claims Support Team in contributing to overall business objectives.
Your main responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:- Assist in the management of the Claims Support Team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of customer service, productivity, and professionalism.
- Review and analyse all claims determining coverage, liability, and settlement options. Act as a key point of contact and aid the National Claims Manager on complex claims.
- Oversee the investigation of claims, ensuring all necessary documentation, evidence, and information are gathered accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as Compliance, Auditing and Dispute Resolution, to ensure proper claims handling and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including third party providers, repairers, selling agents, etc.
Preference will be given to applicants with a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for the automotive industry.
Additionally, preference will be given to applicants who possess a sound knowledge of mechanical breakdown insurance, claim settlement procedures, compliance with the General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP), along with the ability to identify key issues to escalate claim assessments and conduct file reviews.
You will have proven staff motivational, analytical, problem solving, communication, organisational and inter personal skills, and have the drive and energy to deliver excellent customer service.
Salary is expected to fall in the $75k to $85k range + super (depending on previous experience), however this may be negotiable for very strong applicants on higher pay.
