Sydney Local Health District is seeking a highly motivated Provisional Fellow to join the Electrophysiology Program at RPA Hospital

What you will be doing:


The Department of Cardiology and the Electrophysiology Program at RPAH


The Department of Cardiology of RPAH, in which the successful applicant will work, offers comprehensive cardiology service delivery across all subspecialities including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, imaging (echocardiography, CT, MRI etc), heart failure, genetic heart disease, adult congenital heart disease etc.


The Electrophysiology Program at RPAH is a highly interdisciplinary Heart Team with close collaboration between Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and other relevant cardiology subspecialties including adult congenital heart disease and MRI cardiologist.

The Electrophysiology service performs approximately 600 procedures per year, including complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmia ablations (including epicardial ablation) and cardiac device implantation including conduction system pacing, leadless pacemaker and subcutaneous cardiac defibrillator implants.

There are also a variety of outpatient clinics including the arrhythmia clinic, defibrillator clinic, genetic heart disease clinic and sports cardiology clinic.

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. RPAH is also one of Australia's leading quaternary referral hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services.   • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated strong organisational skills, ability to manage competing priorities and be flexible to change with proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient care.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to present information in a manner understood by both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, sensitivity and maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research as required.
  • Previous experience in electrophysiology and device implantation procedures desirable (but not essential).
