About the role

We have two Permanent Full Time vacancies:

1 x Supervisor (CBD) Park Operations

1 x Supervisor Park Maintenance


These positions are responsible for leading field based operational employees and contractors to deliver horticultural & maintenance services that ensures Parramatta's parks and open spaces are maintained and improved to enhance the appearance of the city and to promote Parramatta as Australia's next great city.


You will supervise and lead the team contractors by overseeing, coordinating, and planning all activities, communicate and distribute information within the team.


On a daily basis you will:

  • Coordinate team structures to align individual's competency with operational requirements and effectively developed staff for future roles.
  • Mentor new starters and others within the team and undertake onthejob training for the team
  • Undertake the management of staff, including dispute resolution, performance management and resource management
  • Undertake planning, goal setting, task & resource allocation for the team, to ensure a program of works are completed effectively and meets the approved service standard. ask
  • The development and implementation of cyclic mowing, park maintenance, garden maintenance and inspection programs.
  • Make decisions and implement work practices and programs in line with acceptable practices of the Horticulture/Arboriculture/Green keeping, trade and industry.
  • Monitor all works programs for compliance with KPI's, SLA's.
  • Provide input into future works programs: park improvements related to horticultural, infrastructure works and improved park layouts.

About You


You will also bring relevant experience in the area of specialisation in maintenance of parks and open spaces and experience in preparing works programs and schedules.

It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have a:

  • Trade certificate in Horticulture, relevant to role/area of specialisation (arboriculture, horticulture, landscaping, nursery, and sports turf management), (diploma/degree qualification in horticulture or related field desirable)
  • Hold a current NSW Driver's Licence (C Class, MR desirable).
  • Possession of a construction industry certificate ("White Card").
  • Hold a current AQF3 Chemical Accreditation minimum, with an AQF4 Chemical Accreditation level of training desirable
  • Traffic Control (TCP, IMP) Experience

What's on offer
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $101,451.75 to $111, salary not including super).
