Head of Community Services

The role

  • Drive performance excellence and sustainable service growth and development aligned to strategy
  • Lead and design key community services including annual planning, strategy and budget processes
  • Permanent fulltime role
  • Melbourne based plus hybrid working


The Head of Community Services manages and oversees key community programs including the Centre for Culture Ethnicity and Health, Healthy Communities, Community Empowerment and Development, Outreach and Community Engagement, Volunteers, and other community service projects as they are developed.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the role forms part of the Executive Members Table and supports the organisation to meet its Strategic Objectives.

The role will be responsible for seeking strategic and viable funding opportunities for relevant services.


The Head of Community Services guides and directs the organisation's focus on client experience and community engagement through collaborative and strategic stakeholder and partnership management.

Embedding the principles of service integration across NRCH, this role ensures all legislative, accreditation and funding targets and objectives are met and exceeded.


About you

  • A forwardthinking, influential and capable leader adept at operationalising strategy into outcomes
  • Proven leadership and management experience within Community Health or similar
  • Collaborative and innovative, with demonstrated change management skills
  • Skilled in stakeholder and partnership management (particularly government)
  • Qualifications or equivalent in Community Development and/or Business
