Quality Assurance, Commissioning & Completions Manager:

The Quality Assurance, Commissioning and Completions Manager leads a team of Construction Supervisors and Commissioning Managers who perform the technical and quality assurance functions for the Infrastructure Development and Delivery (IDD) Group.

This includes, but is not limited to, surveillance, hold point inspections, inspection and test plans (ITP's) and handover plans, supporting ICAM's, developing and/or implementing commissioning plans to reflect Sunwater requirements and to enable operational readiness and handover to operations.

The role


The Quality Assurance, Commissioning and Completions Manager role requires effective collaboration and communication with a range of project and broader business stakeholders to ensure Sunwater's standards, quality assurance, environmental and commissioning requirements are met and accepted by stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle (solution development, detail design, construction, commissioning, handover and close out phases).


Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Project Managers throughout the project to ensure Quality & Assurance processes are embedded across the project lifecycle with key stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of Construction Supervisors, Commissioning Managers and others Sunwater employees across multiple major and minor projects.
  • Coordinate resourcing and scheduling of hold point/witness point, commissioning activities on project sites to ensure efficiency and alignment with project requirements.
  • Develop process to ensure all stakeholders have been engaged to verify that clear, concise deliverables are enabled and signed off at each stage of the Project, Program and Portfolio Management Framework (P3MF) for projects delivered through IDD from Evaluation (Gate 2) to Benefits Realisation (Gate 5)
  • Work collaboratively within IDD and with; Engineering & Water Resources, Operations Groups and others to ensure project and operational objectives are understood and captured in commissioning, handover, inspection and test plans, and required deliverables.

About you
We are looking for someone with a bachelors degree in a relevant field, 10+ years in Dam and/or water Distribution experience and the Ability to achieve a Certification as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)

You will be able to exhibit:

  • Demonstrated high quality expertise as the Quality Manager / Commissioning Engineer in the delivery of significant infrastructure projects
  • Highly developed written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare written technical reports, memos, presentations, and other communications in a clear and logical manner
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in the construction and/or surveillance of large dams, weirs, pipelines or other complex infrastructure
  • Demonstrable budget and program management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate technical risk to a broader organisational risk management framework.
  • Class 'C' drivers' licence.
