About The Role


As our next Asset Specialist, based in our newly renovated Brisbane head office, you will support Australian operations in the development and submission of long-term maintenance plans.

This role will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results for our projects.


Additionally, the role will:

  • Communicate detailed maintenance plans and longterm component forecasts to site, OEMs and other key suppliers
  • Ensure the JDE maintenance system is utilised effectively on all sites to ensure consistency and transparency across the business and records are maintained accurately
  • Carry out strategy reviews where required to ensure that all Thiess assets are maintained to achieve operational MTBF metrics while not compromising safety or budgets.
  • Assist in the development of site personnel in planning systems and process
  • Assist and advise sitebased planners as required for developing planning strategies
  • Identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of maintenance work through enhanced planning practices and new technologies
  • Ensure effective plans are submitted for approval and components are managed in line with business expectations
  • Identify projectbased opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce maintenance costs

About You
You will have a clear understanding of the whole of life asset strategy and strong stakeholder management skills.

You will also have;

  • Trade qualification / Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications / experience
  • Experience in maintenance operations with large mining equipment
  • Experience in scheduling and planning maintenance activities for large mining equipment
  • Experience in Maintenance Warehousing and Inventory management processes
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Competent in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., JDE)
  • Knowledge of contract management, including subcontractors
  • Highly effective communication skills
