The Role


The role is a key participant in building proactive and collaborative relationships internally and externally to Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) to ensure the realisation of value for money.

Quality outcomes in line with business objectives will be delivered through the implementation of sound procurement and contract management processes while providing valuable advice to the business.


The Team


Join a dynamic team of professionals who enjoy working on the end-to-end procurement activities and processes for all level of stakeholders within APRA.

This will range from leading whole of government arrangements, through to undertaking end-to-end procurements. The role will also lead and execute on process improvements.


What your typical day will look like

  • Actively create and drive new improvement opportunities and activities for the engagement of internal and external stakeholders
  • Influence, negotiate and identify potential contract savings and risks
  • Develop and maintain up to date contract documentation
  • Ensure APRA's procurement practices and processes comply with government standards and are commercially accountable
  • Manage the tendering and administrative procurement processes, ensuring all documentation and delegated approvals are obtained
  • Providing guidance and contract expertise to internal and external stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner
  • Identify and manage contractual and operational risks

About you

  • Highly developed selfmanagement, time management and prioritising skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Passion for procurement
  • Experience with computer assisted systems and processes
  • Demonstrated investigative and analytical skills including the ability to use MS Excel, Database and Reporting systems
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to undertake negotiations with suppliers and staff at all levels
  • Appreciation for contract management practices and techniques
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
