About the Opportunity**Our company is currently seeking a senior-level
Design Manager to join our Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Team.

As the Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design of water infrastructure projects, including water treatment plants, water and wastewater pipelines, and reservoirs, pump stations, reservoirs and water treatment plants.


You will work closely with other departments within the company and be required to coordinate multi‐disciplinary activities and inputs such as engineering, construction, and project management, to ensure that designs meet project requirements and are completed on time and within budget.

The Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Section works on long term projects with major clients based in Melbourne, including Melbourne Water, Yarra Valley Water and Great Western Water, and important regional clients such as Goulburn Valley Water.

We regularly collaborate with our teams nationally and work with interstate clients, including Sydney Water, Water Corporation, SA Water amongst others.

You will also get the opportunity to work on projects internationally and connect to Global Industry leaders and experts.


To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of water infrastructure design principles and be able to effectively mentor and/or lead a team of designers.

You should have experience with industry-standard design software and be comfortable working with other project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and community groups.


Here's What You'll Need:


  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
  • Chartered status from a relevant engineering body.
  • Extensive experience in project or design management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations and treatment plants.
  • Experience in managing projects across the water asset lifecycle from strategic planning, planning, business cases, engineering design, operations and maintenance, and asset management.
  • Ability to assist in the proposal phase for upcoming opportunities, including preparing and leading proposals to position the team for success.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
