In this role, you'll:

Work with the category management team of our Regional and Outer Metropolitan branch of Transport for NSW, leading a small team involved in the procurement of construction materials and services.

Work for the greater good of communities in remote areas that will build better infrastructure and see you work as part of the working groups for change.

It will also see you looking at how we can work differently such as thorough more sustainable products in the market.

Have the responsibility of a large financial portfolio involving high value sourcing activities across the year.

This will involve buying construction materials like gravel and concrete through to providing operations services like traffic controls and line markings for key regional projects involving roads, bridges and tunnels.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee people and projects with regular stakeholder engagement and act as the conduit between your manager and the team.

About you

Are someone with strong and proven experience in the procurement of construction materials and services and ideally have or are progressing towards being a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS).

Recognised as being a successful leader and motivator of a team and good at dealing with conflict and conflict resolution that will see you manage conflicts both for the site and the team.

As a Category Manager you are comfortable dealing with people in the construction industry and working to time and budget constraints of high value projects.

As an individual, you are initiative-taking, able to navigate to the challenges that occur daily, with the ability to resolve or escalate issues to management when necessary.

This is a Permanent Full-Time role based in Macquarie Park with flexibility through our cutting-edge hybrid working model
