The Opportunity:

Visy Logistics is a recognised leader in Australian freight services with comprehensive and competitive road, rail and domestic sea freight, intermodal and 3PL capabilities.

As our QLD Transport Operation Manager, you will manage the day to day transport operations as well as be the point of contact for Visy Logistics in Queensland.

Your ability to self-manage, plan and direct operations and deliver on KPI's autonomously will see you succeed in this permanent full-time role.

The Role

Reporting to the State Manager QLD and based at our site purpose build new site in Crestmead, you will manage a diverse range of transport activities whilst driving efficiencies.

You will also get to guide and inspire a team of 4 direct reports to deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers.

Your key responsibilities will be but not limited to:

Oversee and manage departmental costs and expenditure within agreed budgets to provide the agreed profitability of the business
Monitor facilitation of back office and operations including administration and operations over the spread of shifts
Manage labour levels and the business leave plan to ensure suitable coverage is provided
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and conduct KAM operational review meetings and performance tracking
Maintain KPI's that demonstrate the business unit's performance and assist in decision making for business developments and improvements.

What you'll need to bring:

***- Solid knowledge of the supply chain/operations/warehouse landscape ideally within FMCG, Retail or Logistics industry

Strong Transport & Logistic Operational experience with P&L responsibility is essential
Prior experience leading and guiding a team
Be highly selfmotivated and resilient, assertive and not afraid to make a decision
A continues improvement mindset with good change management experience
You can build strong relationships external and internal as this will be crucial to the success of his role
