The opportunity


We have two exciting fixed-term opportunities for Contract Management Specialists to join the Chief Operations Office Branch until June 2026.

These roles will be expected to develop, refine and implement contract management processes and strategies for Bus, Light Rail or Ferry services within Greater Sydney and actively manage strategic and transactional aspects of contract management to business unit leadership teams.

Working out of the Elizabeth street office two days a week, this role will allow you to build a true partnership with operators and stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of an integrated, safe, reliable, and customer-focused bus service.

Reporting to the Director Service Delivery, you will be involved in:

  • Manage the end-to-end contract management activities to ensure that contracts are consistent with government priorities and Transport for NSW strategic directions to deliver high-quality, integrated, customer-oriented services and demonstrates value for money.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across all aspects of the services including safety, asset, journey time, cleanliness, wayfinding, customer information, degraded mode operations and contract management.
  • Provide targeted support in contract management, service variations, and contract documentation to ensure suppliers comply with their contractual obligations, including performance standards, and provide costeffective and efficient services to customers.
  • Develop, manage and implement a range of leadingedge contract management processes in conjunction with the Contract Management team to optimise supplier relationships and contract compliance.
  • Provide accurate, expert and timely advice, information and reports on the strategic and transactional aspects of contract management relevant to their contract portfolio to highlight any trends, forecasts or risks that require management intervention and/or strategic solutions for further action.

About you


You will demonstrate prior success managing multiple contracts of similar complexity and value in a customer-focused environment ideally paired with a strong background in government contract management.


Your stakeholder engagement skills will be first-class, enabling a flexible, relationship-based approach to managing the contracts and various internal/external stakeholders.

You will display a continuous improvement focus, driving service improvements and engaging new technologies across the network.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($142,178 - $159,238) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
