About the role:


An opportunity has arisen in the Central Specimen Reception (CSR) Department for a technical assistant in our friendly and dynamic team.

The main duties involve the receipt and processing of pathology request forms and specimens, and general administrative duties in a very busy work environment.

This is a shift work position, with occasional overnight shifts.

With an emphasis on a team approach, this position is suitable for an enthusiastic and hardworking person who has a strong attention to detail.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia
  • Demonstrated qualifications and/or experience in relevant area of pathology
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer focus with excellent service skills and telephone etiquette

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Ability to work unsupervised and to multi-task
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
