Description

About the Role

Here at BOQ Group we have been busy working behind the scenes building out our fastest-growing team - Group Risk - for an exciting and ambitious future-state.

You may have seen we have plenty of Risk-related roles to choose from. We are strengthening, simplifying, and digitising, whilst ensuring our foundations are in place.

With foundation comes strength, and we are building strong and stable teams to work across our multi-branded business but most importantly, elevating our Risk culture - there is so much opportunity to contribute to the overarching frameworks and be paramount in supporting the build of our digital bank.

Reporting into our fabulous (and new) Head of Regulatory Engagement, this opportunity will see you support BOQ Group, at an enterprise level, in managing its interactions, engagements and communications with our key financial and prudential regulators.

Pretty important, hey?

Yes, this is a crucial role in our ongoing support to our senior leaders across BOQ Group, partnering with them on regulatory governance matters, and in all engagements with key regulators including recording of key points, relevant minutes, and any resulting actions.

This role will be supporting the Regulatory Engagement team and BOQ leadership in a variety of ways, including but not limited to,

  • Responses to daytoday queries and request from regulators
  • Preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders, including synthesising data and information into appropriate formats
  • Preparation and management of onsite reviews by our regulators
  • Responses to Regulatory actions and commitment
  • Manage external relationships with Regulators

You will be involved with identifying key issues and themes, interpreting policy and articulating the findings in a constructive manner.

This also includes a requirement to understand the implications of what has been identified and the impact for the Bank, key stakeholders, and the customer.

About you

With experience in Regulatory Affairs, Legal or Auditing background, you'll bring sound knowledge of all things from a Risk and Regulatory Compliance landscape - yip, you get it.

We operate in a highly regulated, fast-paced (often tight deadlines) environment so we are seeking a strategic thinker who can think quick on their feet.

Collaboration and partnership come naturally to you, where you aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, participating and promoting cooperative working relationships across the organisation.

You describe yourself as enthusiastic, analytical problem solver who is ready for their next challenge

As a leader within the risk management space, you have the proven ability to work with any stakeholder - especially at senior level - working alongside them to reach a desired outcome.

You are familiar with the analysis and reporting of the regulatory affairs arena, and are comfortable presenting said findings to groups such as the Board Committee, Regulators and Senior stakeholders.

Other skills and experience we are ideally seeking include:

  • 3-5 years' experience in Regulatory Affairs, Legal or Auditing is desirable
  • High attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Professional balanced approach
  • Sound report writing and presentation skills especially at Board Committee level
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and unambiguous manner and,
  • Outcome orientated, with a clear understanding of customer requirements

Working for us is fun and fast-paced, and we are seeking top talent to take us where we want to go.
