About the role


Reporting directly to the Chief Risk and Governance Officer (CRGO), this role oversees all aspects of QBANK's Compliance Management Framework.

The role monitors regulatory change within the industry and works closely with all areas of the business to interpret and oversee the organisations' compliance with key regulatory obligations, including AML/CTF, Privacy, AFSL/ACL compliance, regulatory reporting, product and marketing reviews, and developing policies, tools and processes that support the Compliance Management Framework.

Responsibilities of the position are wide and varied and include:

  • Providing relevant legal, regulatory and compliance advice and guidance to the business;
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring the annual compliance and assurance plan;
  • Assisting the business to operationalise regulatory and compliance requirements;
  • Interpreting, overseeing and monitoring compliance with key regulations (APRA Prudential Standards, AFSL, ACL, AML, Privacy);
  • Driving a first line compliance culture including proactive and effective breach and incident reporting, measurement and rectification;
  • Working with the CRGO to provide insightful and relevant Board and Risk Committee reporting for compliance matters;
  • Driving continuous improvement in compliance practices;
This role works collaboratively and proactively across the business and is supported by the Compliance Officer.


About you


You will be a mid to senior-level Legal, Regulatory or Compliance professional (5+ years) with relevant tertiary qualifications and ideally experience in a retail banking environment.

You have the ability to think strategically as well as a track record of operationalising compliance obligations and enhancing our existing compliance framework and tools.


You will have the skills to influence change via your ability to build and foster key relationships both internally and externally.


As a collaborator and influencer in the business, you will provide pragmatic and practical advice and guidance to the business and have the confidence to constructively challenge decisions and issues.

You will have excellent reporting and analytical skills (both written and verbal). Previous experience with Protecht Enterprise Risk Management System is desirable.
