Description

The Program Lead - Water and Mining will help deliver the 2023 review of the Latrobe Valley Regional Rehabilitation Strategy.

A key participant in whole-of-government planning for the rehabilitation of the Latrobe brown-coal mines, the Program Lead will manage projects associated with the possible use of manufactured water sources (recycled water or desalinated water) and provide strategic advice on water policy matters relevant to mine rehabilitation.

A high level of collaboration is required across Government and with the mine operators. This work will inform licensees' preparation of their Declared Mine Rehabilitation Plans.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Qualifications and Admission: A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is essential (engineering, science, economics or a related discipline).
  • Knowledge: A highlevel understanding of manufactured water sources, water quality and the ability to translate technical findings to support policy decisions is essential.
  • Experience: Sound knowledge and experience in waterresource project management and/or assessment of Stage Government infrastructure projects is desirable.
This is a fixed term position available for a period until July 2024. The work location for this position is a flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
