An exciting opportunity is available for
a School Link Coordinator, a Temporary Full time position up to 15 September 2024 with the possibility of extension, to join our service in the
Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (JHFMHN).



We are looking for a qualified health care professional:

  • Healthcare professional that holds a degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association/full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Someone with demonstrated clinical experience in adolescent mental health as well as knowledge of the mental health needs of adolescents in contact with the criminal justice system.

School Link is collaboration between NSW Ministry of Health and NSW Department of Education. School Link is one of a range of initiatives that was launched in 1999 to improve the mental health of adolescents and young people in NSW. School Link supports the early identification of mental health issues for young people and assists in identifying the pathways to care for students with mental health problems and disorders. Additionally the School Link initiative aims to improve the mental health literacy of schools, TAFE NSW and other learning environments. The Network
School Link Coordinator works across the state in formal collaboration with School Link Coordinators from other Local Health Districts to support the implementation of school based mental health promotion, prevention programs and early intervention programs for young people who are in contact with the criminal justice system. The role and responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with delegations, policies, procedures and operations systems of JH&FMHN, and in line with both the NSW Health Code of Conduct and JH&FMHN Code of Conduct.
