We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time
Support Technician to join our
Information Technology team in
Melbourne. This role will be required to work 24 hours a week with Mondays and Wednesdays being required work days.

The Support Technician will provide direct technical assistance and support to team members for network, hardware and software issues. This role will report to the
Information Technology Coordinator.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service to meet the IT service needs of our people
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment and arrange for servicing needs
  • Triage service request tickets, providing response and complete resolution as soon as practicably possible
  • Troubleshoot problems and work to develop solutions for equipment or system issues
  • Run diagnostic software to ensure correct operation of equipment
  • Record activities, solutions, and other responses to request for service
  • Perform basic onsite fault diagnosis, with additional support and guidance from the team
  • Assisting with systems onboarding of new employees including setting up workstations and devices
  • Assisting users with the operation of meeting rooms technology and carry out adhoc duties as required
  • Coordinate the return of all used hardware within an appropriate time frame
  • Provide backup technical support for network including router, firewall, and wireless access point
  • Ensure regular network administrative functions are carried out
  • Identify and report system issues to vendors
  • Inventory control support, including setting up user accounts and devices
  • Monitor and test resolution of those issues sent to vendors
  • Monitor antivirus software and updates, including the repair of computers infected with spyware, adware and/or viruses
  • Monitor backup systems and procedures to ensure data security
  • System license maintenance and management

Successful applicants must have:

  • Qualified or studying certification in Information Technology and/or Computer Science or equivalent
  • Network maintenance and help desk support
  • Interpersonal and communication skills relevant to duties
  • Ability to plan workloads with limited supervision, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 36
  • Experience working in a similar role is preferred
  • Completed internship experience is preferred
  • Strong interest in developing skills in Information Technology
