About the role:

Centurion Transport is currently seeking an experienced Supervisor with substantial knowledge in Heavy Haulage Operations to join our Team, based at our Kewdale branch.

The Heavy Haulage Operations Supervisor will provide safe, cost efficient and reliable transport solutions whilst ensuring heavy haulage assets are safely maintained and utilisation is maximised.

You will work under the direction of the Heavy Haulage Operations Manager to provide a safe workplace, direction and leadership to the broader heavy haulage operations team, ensuring costs are managed closely and customer service levels remain high.

Key Duties:

Conduct prestart meetings and weekly tool box meetings
Ensuring compliance with all relevant HSE&Q requirements.
Ensuring all loaded trailers meet all relevant company, client and legislative requirements in regard to restraint, weight and dangerous goods.
Complete workplace inspections and mitigate, prevent or remove any risks.
Provide professional service and communication with all couriers, customers, and fellow staff.
Receive enquiries and tender requests from customers and provide quotations within required time frames.
Provide operational guidance and expertise to the heavy haulage operation.
Plan the scheduling of trips/moves, prime movers, trailers to service the operation whilst managing employee leave, rosters, fatigue hours, maintenance schedules and customer requirements.
Report on key business elements, including: Operations, Safety, HR, Compliance, Maintenance, Procedures/Systems.
Identify and record in the appropriate system the Training Needs Analysis, and any performance gaps of team members.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Essentials:

Previous transport experience, specialising in Heavy Haulage Operations.
Strong leadership skills (operations management, supervision, training and performance management).
Proven ability to safely and efficiently manage large volumes of freight in Yard environment.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong negotiation skills. Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Microsoft Suite of Packages. Planning/Project Management Skills.
Attention to detail.
Practical understanding of Continuous Improvement and Process Management.
