The Role
Calling all aircraft technicians, aircraft maintenance engineers and technical professionals from other regulated industries
Do you want a job where you can actually make a difference and directly contribute to the safety and security of all Australians?
Navy Aviation System Program Office (NASPO) is offering the opportunity to be part of a team that ensures both the mission readiness and airworthiness of the Royal Australian Navy's MH-60R Seahawk Romeo helicopter fleet and the safety of its aviators and aircraft maintenance staff through the conduct and delivery of technical sustainment support services.
Under direction of the team lead, you will use your avionics, software and/or electrical technical domain knowledge and/or industry experience and provided on the job training and approved processes and data to deliver technical sustainment support services within required timeframes through:

The US Navy (USN) is a partner and significant contributor to MH-60R technical sustainment services. You will be required to work through your team lead with USN counterparts to ensure timely delivery of technical information used in support of technical assessments and/or output documents.
Suitable applicants may be placed on a merit list and drawn upon in the event further APS 5 technical positions become available.
About our Team
The Technical/Engineering Services and Support Unit (TESSU) Romeo & Design (R&D) team is part of the core Engineering Design and Technical support organisation within NASPO. Our primary role is the conduct of MH-60R Seahawk Romeo helicopter Military Type Certificate Holder (MTCH) functions and MH-60R Continuing Airworthiness Management (CAM) and (MAO) Technical Support Services.
You may also provide adhoc technical and design support to other internal and external customers including Flight Trials and ADF Rotary Wing design activities being conducted under NASPO's DASR Part 21J Design Organisation approval.
We are a diverse team made up of APS, ADF, US Navy and contractors, all driven to ensure both the airworthiness and mission readiness of the RAN's MH-60R Seahawk Romeo Helicopter fleet and the safety of its aviators and aircraft maintenance staff.
This position will suit an aircraft technician, aircraft maintenance engineer or a technician from another regulated industry with a compatible technical trade background who is keen to make a difference and directly contribute to the safety and security of all Australians through the technical sustainment of this ADF capability.
Our Ideal Candidate
NASPO is looking for someone with the ability to interpret technical instructions and data, apply relevant underpinning technical knowledge and develop technical plans, output documents and responses for use by Navy's MH-60R Seahawk Romeo helicopter fleet.
To be successful in the role:
You must be a team-focused individual who fosters and maintains strong productive working relationships and works well with customers and stakeholders to achieve results.
You should be open to learning new and complex systems both with peer support and through both formal and self-directed learning.
Whilst not necessary, recent aviation industry technical experience would be advantageous
