  • We are currently recruiting a Process Control Network (PCN) Infrastructure Specialist for Chevron within the Perth CBD on an initial 12 month contract.
  • This position oversees technical and cybersecurity governance and oversight of the engineering, design, and deliverables of the PCN/OT systems for Major Capital Projects. This is a Perth based role, with occasional travel requirements to remote sites and international locations as required.
  • The role reports to MCP Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&T) Team Lead, and will be closely embedded within the Capital Projects Delivery Teams to help enable the delivery of all PCN/OT systems.

Key Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Work as an integrated member of a multi-functional Engineering & Execution Team to support the Capital Project delivery teams, including the Process Automation System Integrator (PASI), and Main Automation Contractor (MAC) teams, providing technical and cybersecurity input into the design and deliverables to ensure alignment with Chevron policies, standards and technical controls
  • Provide direction and input on Chevron compliance and cybersecurity requirements with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure PCN/OT systems compliance.
  • Review design documentation, attend workshops and Contractor FAT to provide assurance project deliverables in accordance with the Basis of Design, PCN/OT Philosophy and Contract agreement.
  • Build, develop, and maintain effective relationships and act as a 'conduit' to facilitate Major Capital Projects IT&T deliverables, and enable open communication between Capital Projects & MCP IM&T key stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Chevron Technical Centre (CTC) to ensure the current Chevron PCN Cybersecurity standards and design 'best practices' are applied through the life of the project, and that all MCP Project Resources and external vendors understand and implement fully compliant systems.
  • Assist with the transition of Project PCN/OT systems to Phase 5 Operations, to ensure reliable and safe LNG plant operations.
  • Ensure all documentation, evergreen procedures and compliance activities for the PCN systems are completed and up to date

Key skills and experience required:


  • Demonstrated experience in managing PCN/OT systems to ensure they are aligned with cybersecurity and compliance policies, standards and technical controls
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated ability to determine requirements, set expectations, and educate internal and external stakeholders with regards to design and cybersecurity requirements, standards and controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in support, administration, troubleshooting of PCN/OT systems
  • Demonstrated experience and technically competent in supporting operating systems and technologies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Hirschman, VMware
  • Demonstrated ability to provision and support Windows Active Directory domains, forests and associated services.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, problem solving, and resolving OT/IT technical issues
  • Excellent knowledge of security zones and related network/system integration requirements between different PCN systems/subsystems as implemented by IEC 6244
  • Proficient in their understanding of, and able to communicate with, technical practitioners about the following:
  • SCADA, DCS, PLCs, HMIs and related industrial control systems
  • OPC, Historians, relational databases
  • System integration, network topology and protocols such as TCP, Modbus
  • Industry Standards and best practices that are applicable to IT/OT environments
  • Common secure network architectures used in IT/OT environments
  • Experience in working on large scale / complex programs of work will be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to build, manage and develop mutually beneficial relationships with fellow team members, MCP stakeholders, other Chevron Teams, and external vendors
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, without supervision and have a flexible approach to work
