The Role

The Recruitment Manager plays an important role in delivery of the Memorial's people strategy and to support this, is responsible for guiding managers and staff in all aspects of recruitment.

The Recruitment Manager works in a small team under limited direction of the Workforce Development Manager.

The Recruitment Manager has a thorough understanding of contemporary APS recruitment strategies, processes and procedures and is committed to partnering with business, cultivating a performance culture and working independently and flexibly.

This role is also responsible for HR metrics and reporting for the HR Team.


Core Responsibilities
Under limited direction from the Workforce Development Manager the Recruitment Manager is responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a recruitment strategy, policy and procedures to address emerging workforce requirements and support good practice against the Memorial's internal requirements and statutory obligations as an APS employer.
  • Guiding hiring managers through the recruitment process including the provision of advice, support and training.
  • Administration and coordination of the operational aspects of the overall recruitment process, including enhancements for and maintenance of the Memorial's recruitment system (HireRoad).
  • Gathering and interrogating key HR metrics and building reports and dashboards that fulfil the Memorial's internal and external reporting and data analysis requirements.
  • Developing and interpreting ad hoc and regular reports which clearly and concisely show status and trends for HR data.
  • Reviewing, evaluating and classifying job descriptions across a broad range of positions through benchmarking using relevant external models as appropriate.
  • A collaborative team approach to establishing and maintaining productive working relationships across the Memorial on all recruitment activities.
  • Representation of the section and Memorial to internal and external audiences such as applicants, referees and recruitment agencies.
  • Overseeing the provision of HR Financial information and processes (TechOne)
  • Management of a small team.
