Technician & Field Services Officer - Adelaide Region SA, Australia - Ultra Electronics

Key Competency Requirements:
- Provide technical support services to our Defence customer at various Defence locations throughout Australia for short durations
- Assume the lead role in offsite activities which includes managing Ultra technicians and subcontractors
- Testing, maintaining, and diagnosing a wide range of electronic and electromechanical hardware/equipment;
- Undertake maintenance and upgrade tasks which will require interpreting circuit diagrams and following the instructions contained in technical manuals and test procedures, within the constraints of any Delegation of Authority;
- Participation in the technical work associated with the performance of tasks undertaken on Electronic Systems and Subassemblies. Not restricted to Ultra products.
Such tasks may include:
- System and equipment condition assessment;
- System and equipment survey, overhaul and repair;
- System and equipment upgrade, set to work, alignment and performance optimisation;
- Installation and removal of systems and equipment.
- Provide services that require a high level of knowledge of electronic components, the correct use and care of general purpose test equipment and general workshop skills;
- Identify and implement process improvement;
- Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to nondiscrimination, safety and duty of care and the quality management system including external stakeholder policies
- Ensure adherence to approved work practices with specific responsibility for ESD protection and adherence to defined workmanship standards.
- Participate in the design, prototype, test and installation of minor electronic developments
- Respond to "Help Desk" enquiries of a technical nature, if required

Experience/Knowledge:
- Electronic/electrical assembly production planning, monitoring and reporting.
- High level of knowledge of fault finding techniques
- Knowledge and experience with IPC standards (IPC-A610, IPC/WHMA-A620, IPC7711/IPC7722).
- Electronic Warfare (specifically SIGINT) domain knowledge and experience;
- Experience with use of defence reporting tools, MILIS, SIMS, AMPS (desirable).
- Experience with use of modern ERP tools, such as IFS, for production planning, inventory management and procurement (desirable).
- Previous experience working in Naval, Land and Air domains, working sometimes hand in hand with customers.
- Minimum 5 years industry experience within quality framework, in an engineering Command environment, supporting medium subsystems or group of smaller subsystems and/or equipment
- Experience in circuits and wiring fault finding in PC and industrial computing bus systems (cPCI,VME)
- Field fault diagnosis and repair of electronics and electrical equipment;
- Proven ability to adhere to company policy;
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 practices
- Significant technical experience in maintenance, repairs, modifications.
- Command support systems
- Maintenance of electromechanical and hydraulic systems
Qualifications:
- Formal qualifications in Engineering
- Diploma in Electronics and Communications(or related discipline) or relevant industry experience;
- Formal qualifications in people leadership, business management. (Frontline Management, Diploma in Business)
