About the role

Reporting to the Merchandise Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supplier and contractor relationships to ensure the best trading terms for the ALPA group.


This position is based in Darwin and will require relocation

Responsibilities

Engage and negotiate with suppliers to develop ALPA's stock range

  • Review Retail supplier payment terms to ensure best payment terms are in place
  • Implement, monitor, and control store specific ranging
  • Collaborate with Area Managers regarding stock ranges in stores ensuring ranges are compliant with ALPA's nutrition policy
  • Coordinate both instore and group investment purchasing
  • Manage and review all retail contracts and service providers to ensure contract terms are met

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a retail buying role.
  • Experience in contract management and negotiation.
  • Highlevel skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An unrestricted NT C class driver's license or ability to obtain.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.
