The role ofPayroll Specialist is part of a project team, with a remit for payroll analysis activities. You'll conduct in-depth analysis across the payroll lifecycle within this complex industrial environment.
Your work will include historical payroll review, mapping of EA data to systems across Rostering/T&A, HRIS and the Payroll, as well as modelling payroll scenarios.
You'll identify gap areas, capture business requirements, document and make recommendations for systems changes.Day to day you will:
- Engage internal and external stakeholders including Payroll, IR, Technical teams and vendors
- Interpret, review and analyse EA terms and conditions
- Map EA conditions into the payroll lifecycle to identify gaps
- Perform historical payroll reviews and propose solutions to optimise payroll processes
- Undertake payroll scenario modelling including validation activities
- Identify payroll risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Uplift payroll compliance
- Drive continuous improvement and maturing of the payroll processes
- Support and drive current and future systems integration activities
This role will suit an experienced payroll professional with proven deep level transactional payroll experience gained in complex industry sectors which may include: Healthcare, Mining, Construction or Operations based Heavy Industry.
Other key experience includes:
- Skills in interpretation and analysis of EA/Industrial Agreements
- Highly developed analysis, scenario modelling and calculations experience
- Ability to recommend changes and improvements to payroll lifecycle with consideration to systems configuration and processes
- Strong hands on knowledge of Time & Attendance, HRIS and Payroll systems (Success Factors, SAP Payroll and Kronos or similar)
- Proactive and collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement
- A problem solving/solutions based workstyle
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills
You'll then drive governance across a broader remit globally encompassing NZ and other locations, with opportunities for growth in this role

Hybrid working arrangements are offered.
The location is flexible, with potential to be based
south east,
inner north west or in the
northern suburbs of Melbourne.
