Where the team fits in


The Security Analyst role sits within the Security Operations team which, alongside the security engineering and security advisory teams, forms the Group Security Tribe.

The Group Security Tribe works together to embed security throughout REA, empowering staff to make good risk decisions and equipping them with the tools to do so - a cyber health service, not a police force.

The SecOps team defends the corporate infrastructure and cloud environments, and rapidly responds to security events to help keep REA safe.

Unlike security teams you may have worked in previously, we have great support from the executive level and more shiny tools than you can shake an incident response stick at.

Sometimes we even make our own We're looking to level up our security capabilities and we'd love your help.

What the role is all about

  • Analysing and investigating security events through monitoring of the REA environment.
  • Taking part in the business hours support roster triaging security alerts escalated via automated processes and thirdparty notifications.
  • Performing technical incident response activities when required.
  • Contributing to ongoing projects including implementation of automation/nocode platforms and detection engineering.
  • Sharing knowledge with REA staff through blog posts, participation in security guilds/CTFs, or presentations on something you're passionate about.
Who we're looking for

  • Proven knowledge of computer security and basic networking concepts, including Windows, Mac or Linux processes.
  • 12 years' experience in a security operations role (incident response, SOC analyst, etc.) or equivalent area of expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
  • A growth mindset it's not about what you know but how you learn.
Nice to haves

  • Programming or scripting experience
  • Understanding and experience of cloud technologies and DevOps practices
  • Academic or Industry certifications (Offensive Security, eLearn Security, SANS, HackTheBox or PicoCTF profiles are welcome too)
