Purchasing Officer

In this role you will play an integral part in supporting the business with key purchasing and procurement tasks:

  • Placing purchase orders with both local and overseas suppliers.
  • Management of orders and processing both locally and overseas.
  • Liaising with local/overseas forwarders to coordinate international shipments.
  • Build and construct containers based on product SKU's
  • Modelling with supplier base the most efficient way to maximise freight.
  • Price negotiation with both local and overseas supplier base.
  • Review product pricing quarterly to ensure market relevant pricing applies to purchased products.
  • Evaluation of stock flow and provide detailed forecast and projections.
  • Liaise with warehouse and help coordinate orders and local deliveries.
  • Maintain inventory database and assist in the reduction of slowmoving lines.
  • Assist in audit of pallets and SOH at warehouse facility.
  • Maintain quality control and ensuring products adhere to purchase specifications.
  • Assisting buyer with product compliance.
  • Analysis of sales vs forecasts to ensure appropriate balance of stock is ordered.
  • Working with warehouse and finance to maintain warehouse efficiencies.

You will have:


  • Around 5 years of purchasing experience in an importing environment.
  • Great office management skills
  • Experience liaising with Freight Forwarding companies.
  • Up to date working knowledge of purchasing both import and export consumables, from planning stage.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel and strong numeracy skills.
  • Your attention to detail is second to none.
  • You are personable and energetic, able to demonstrate effective relationshipbuilding and communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.
