The Role:


In this role you will contribute to specific clinical expertise, as well as providing direct care planning and therapies for a allocated young people.

This important position covers the role of coordination of care, from admission through to discharge, ensuring a central point for accountability of care and communication to the ward.

You will provide specialist therapeutic input, assessments and interventions. This role reports clinically to the Ward Psychiatrist for specific patients, and operationally reports to the NUM. You will be working alongside an experienced and supportive team of mental health professionals on the Banksia Adolescent Ward.


To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Tertiary Qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Eligibility for Membership in Victoria with an appropriate Professional Body
  • Demonstrated skills in providing high quality assessment and treatment of children and adolescents aged 017 years with moderate to severe mental health difficulties
  • Expertise in providing consultation and capacity building to internal colleagues and external stakeholders such as schools and community agencies
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of legal obligations when working in a CAMHS context in Victoria
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to functioning in a team environment that enhances the team's high performance
