The Role


As a Customer Care Consultant, you will provide service coordination, conduct assessments, and carry out coaching and peer support activities for people through the Carer Gateway program.

You will support carers, working in partnership with them, to enhance their quality of life, connect them with support services, and develop their peer networks.


Day to day you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive phonebased assessments of Carers who are seeking out the services of the Carer Gateway program
  • Allocate clients to appropriate services within Carer Gateway Program
  • Continuously monitor clients progress in program and empower their journey
  • Manage incoming referrals in a timely and organised manner

What you bring to the role

  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary aged, disability and/or mental health practice
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of older people and/or people with a disability/mental health issue, and their carers.
  • Previous experience in a highvolume customer service role in the community services sector would support success.
  • Understanding of the needs of diverse communities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), and gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTIQ+) communities.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written skills and phone manner
