About the client

One of our clients is now seeking 4 x APS 5 and 3 x APS 6 Co Design Project Officers to join their fast-growing team of talented individuals.


About the role

The APS5 and APS6 Co-Design and Engagement Officer will be required to undertake specialist activities and tasks using available information where options are not always evident.

It will be required to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that supports the agency and where required, the role will design, develop and facilitate engagement sessions with internal and external stakeholders, including the co-design of set projects.


APS 5 Duties

  • Coordinating codesign working groups, workshops and other events.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to prepare codesign materials.
  • Maintaining relationships with relevant key stakeholders to support effective engagement.
  • Working as part of a high performing team to effectively engage with people with disability, their families and carers using a nationally consistent engagement approach.
  • Representing the agency at external forums and events, providing information and guidance to people with disability, participants and the wider community.
  • Delivering clear, concise and effective messaging to people with disability, their families and carers as well as other community stakeholders.
  • Managing a shared inbox, acting as a point of escalation for the triaging of enquiries and requests.

APS 6 Duties

  • Coordinating critical data analysis and feedback to measure effectiveness of activities and strategies, including identifying associated risks and trends.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation and monitoring of targeted engagement strategies and align to the broader engagement strategy and frameworks, with branch and divisional business plans.
  • Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the agencies participation in a diverse range of engagement activities and events, including stakeholder meetings, information sessions, forums, conferences and webinars.
  • Contributing to the implementation and operationalisation of a targeted, proactive engagement strategy, including a forward planned events calendar, aligned to the corporate plan, broader Engagement Strategy and with branch and divisional business plan.

Key skills

  • Ability to influence effective community engagement program design and delivery by researching and identifying the specific issues, needs and interests of target audiences through timely and relevant consultation mechanisms.
  • Monitor and evaluate stakeholder engagement and communications projects providing ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the implementation and delivery of stakeholder engagement, including meeting programmes, responding to relevant stakeholder enquiries, and stakeholder mapping.
  • Understanding the IAP2 engagement spectrum in the human services context
  • Presentation to a small group of stakeholders on a regular basis is a skill we should also look for.
  • Project Management skills/experience and understanding of accessibility.
