We are seeking a Communications Manager to strengthen Aruma's reputation and build trust among both internal and external stakeholders, particularly media.

Reporting to the General Manager of Communications, you will be a well-rounded communications leader who collaborates with our Operations and Fundraising teams.

You will manage the predominantly external communications requirements (with a big focus on PR) and some internal communications components of some of Aruma's major initiatives.

We are looking for a Communications Manager who meets the following requirements:

  • A relevant qualification and at least 7 years of solid communications experience with a proven track record of results.
  • A strong understanding of best practices for both internal and external communications, including crisis communications.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate highperforming teams.
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo and be bold with ideas.
  • A team player who is willing to support the wider team as needed.
  • Strong verbal, presentation, and writing skills, including the ability to write for different audiences and write in plain English.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including media contacts.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactivity, the ability to multitask, prioritise, and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • A solid understanding of MailChimp or similar online marketing platforms.
  • Developed analytical skills and the ability to understand and translate complex information.
  • A solid understanding of best practices for managing data to: distribute newsletters and mailouts and make data informed decisions.
