About the Role

This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced executive support professional to work closely with the Chief Executive Officer of the Australia India Institute, providing high-level support to help the Institute realise its ambitions and strategy.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills, while also developing your understanding of Australia-India relations across the education, cultural and geopolitical sectors.


As the Executive Officer (EO), Leadership Support, you will be responsible for supporting the CEO in increasing the reputation and profile of the Institute, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and providing timely support to prepare reports, presentations and correspondence.

You will also administer the hosting of special visitors and contribute to the development of the Institute's overall strategy.

This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to build appreciation for activities in Australia and India among various fields and make a significant impact on the Institute's success.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare reports, correspondence, briefing notes and presentations for the CEO, including undertaking research and analysis.
  • Provide project and operational support as part of the Institute's team.
  • Provide executive support to meetings and working groups, preparing draft agendas, distribution of papers, preparation of draft minutes and followup actions.
  • Host special visitors from India and other countries through strategic public diplomacy engagement.

Who we are looking for

We're looking for experienced executive professionals with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, as well as excellent time management, organisational and planning abilities.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must for success in this role.


You will also have:

  • Experience in providing administrative support within a busy office environment
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including advanced usage of MS Office and database programs, with an understanding of the use of social media
