About the Role

This role within the Data Solutions team of RCS involves providing consultation and operational support for a range of research data platforms and storage solutions.

The position requires collaborating with researchers and software vendors to ensure operations are conducted in accordance with SOPs, policies, and best practices, and improving usability and stability of data services through service enhancements.

We are a very supportive and dynamic team and will support you with your career and learning goals.

Who we are looking for
We are seeking an individual who is a puzzle solver, an explorer of new technologies and a natural communicator

Degree with subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

Demonstrated experience in a managed service model and writing scripts in one or more languages, such as Python, shell.

To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._

This role requires current valid work rights for Australia.

Your new team -Research Computing Services
Research Computing Services (RCS) delivers the digital research infrastructure and services for researchers at the University of Melbourne.

We operate over 12PB of research data storage to enable data-driven research and collaboration and a range of data management services and provide a range of consultation services to support the development of custom computation and data management solutions.
