ABOUT THE COMPANY.


Work within a highly supportive and fun team at Local Council, based South of Sydney CBD as a Communications Officer.

You will work alongside 3 Communications Officer and be provided thorough coaching and mentoring to ensure your success in the role.


ABOUT THE POSITION.
Immediate start on an initial 3 month contract until the end of the FY.

Reporting to the Coordinator of Communications and Engagement, you will play a pivotal role in researching, monitoring engagement activities, providing administrative assistance as well as building constructive relationships.


DUTIES.

  • Provide assistance to the team and liaise with key members of this Local Council
  • Assist with researching and preparing vital information to be used for public relations material
  • Develop and implement community engagement activities such as surveys, focus groups, workshops etc.
  • Utilising internal correspondence management systems and databases
  • Report writing, formatting and creating of documents

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.

  • Relevant Communications qualifications and/or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working experience in using the whole Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and problemsolving skills
