About the Role
The Programme and Commercial Manager works in close collaboration with Senior Managers and Project Managers in the Smarter Roads program to provide critical support, including developing and maintaining detailed schedules, financial tracking and reporting, benefit realisation and earned value reporting, ensuring version control, communication, risk mitigation and driving consistency of approach to facilitate accuracy in project delivery and reporting
Position Outcomes

  • Lead the commercial and financial coordination of the projects to assist workstream project managers in achieving excellent budget management and forecast accuracy (Forecast accuracy to be 95%)
  • Collaborate with, and provide support to, Project Managers to develop and maintain the detailed project artefacts such as schedules, scope of work, risk registers, change registers etc. ensuring version control and driving consistency of approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting. This will deliver auditable project artifacts and consistent project delivery and reporting across the Smarter Roads program
  • Chair meetings and develop and present summary level schedule reports, earned value, budget forecast, milestone charts, benefit realisation and other programme critical reports to support critical path analysis, prioritybased resource allocations and levelling, and cost/schedule integration. This will deliver a common understanding across the program, including project director and sponsor of financial and project performance.
  • Provide specialist and highly influential advice to ensure the projects are appropriately managed to budget and schedules. This will ensure financial results with 95% of Budget, Change Requests and briefings to senior management supported by insightful analysis and data.
Qualifications/Experience
Mandatory

  • Financial qualification at a graduate level (degree, diploma or equivalent)
  • Two years' experience in Project management, analysis, reporting, and control
  • Commercial management certification and experience
  • Proficient in commonly used programme/project scheduling methods, tools & systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing commercial and process improvement leadership within a large and complex organisation
Desirable

  • Formal Project management qualification (PMI, Prince II, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience working in large ($10M or greater) technology related projects
  • Experience within Transport Operations
