Our Federal Government Client is seeking an IT Systems Analyst to join their team.

This is a long-term contract until June 2024, with the potential for two extensions of 2x12 months. The role is available in Canberra and Brisbane.

  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute as an experienced system analyst.
  • Ensure a sufficient number of prepared tasks for the team to work on.
  • Collaborate with the product owner to plan and prioritize product features and backlog development.
  • Establish acceptance criteria in coordination with the Scrum team.
  • Lead the creation of new functional and nonfunctional requirements.
  • Manage backlog and iteration planning, and elaborate user stories.
  • Identify and extract technical and functional requirements from use cases and user stories.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including operational guides, UI design specifications, and system and program documentation.
  • Act as an interface between business functions, technology, and build teams.
  • Work in a scrumbased agile methodology, multitask, and deliver rapid analysis.
  • Communicate requirements to development teams.
  • Contribute to systems documentation that articulates design intent, user experience, systems and business processes, issues, and risks.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on system processes.
  • Collaborate, develop expertise, and transfer knowledge to achieve business outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as an IT Systems Analyst.
  • Previous experience as a developer is desirable.
  • Proficiency in gathering and writing functional and nonfunctional requirements.
  • Practical experience using Enterprise Architect (EA) Sparx or equivalent modeling and design tools.
  • Knowledge of software development and web technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking ability with attention to detail.
