ABOUT THE ROLE


The Principal Advisor Integrated Operations will be responsible for leading the integration of emergency response operations and situational awareness across the AMSA Response Centre, Response Division and AMSA.


You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the implementation of an integrated approach to incident management across the Response Division and AMSA.
  • Leading the implementation of an expanded operations model for complex responses within the AMSA Response Centre.
  • Coordinating the AMSA Response Centre approach to implementing innovative practices within its processes and systems.
  • Managing the facilities, logistics and information technology and communication systems of the AMSA Response Centre.
  • Coordinating changes and enhancements to the AMSA Response Centre's incident management system.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in emergency preparedness and management or search & rescue (or equivalent as determined to be appropriate by the Manager AMSA Response Centre).
  • Demonstrated experience analysing data and working with operational systems and technologies.
  • Experience in leading projects and teams to meet outcomes in a professional and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a complex emergency coordination environment involving the management of multiple hazards.
  • Knowledge of either maritime or aviation operations in the Australian environment, and associated legislation is desirable.
