WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team


Reporting to the Team Lead - Paint and Liners, you will be part of the greater Surface Technology team working alongside six Painter's and Trades Assistant's.

Throughout 2023 the team will continue to expand to include Sandblasting roles as well.

This team forms part of the RDA Production team which includes the Weld Shop, Prototype Shop, Assembly teams and Armour Shop.

This role will be based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank.


About the Role


Rheinmetall Defence Australia (RDA) have recently commenced full scale production of our Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle under the Land 400 Phase 2 program.

The Production Worker - Liner Bonder role falls under our greater Surface Technology Team, which is made up of Paint, Lining and Sandblasting.

The Production Worker - Liner Bonder is responsible for the preparation and adhesive sealing of ballistic protection lining to armoured vehicles and components.

As a Production Worker - Liner Bonder, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Surface preparation and adhesive bonding of lining;
  • Surface preparation and pretreatment of armour steel assemblies prior to surface coatings;
  • Management of lining booth work areas and tooling, and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Adhesive Bonding standards;
  • Proper use and storage of adhesives and materials in line with RDA HSE standards and Adhesive Bonding standards;
  • Supporting our European Bonding Engineer (EAE) with process start up and ongoing continuous improvement activities; and
  • Achieving the European Adhesives Bonder (EAB) certification full training and certification provided through RDA.

  • Experience working in a process environment in a production or manufacturing facility;
  • Good mechanical aptitude;
  • Fast learner and the ability and willingness to understand new concepts;


  • Sound computer skills

  • Microsoft Office skills and general data entry programs;
  • The ability to travel interstate or overseas for training if required (generally once off training); and
  • The ability to gain and hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance
