The Project:


  • Located in the small suburb of Loxford in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, approximately three km north of the town of Kurri Kurri, and approximately 35 km west of Newcastle and 125 km north of Sydney.
  • The Project will be fully automated, with operations, control and monitoring able to be monitored and controlled from Snowy Hydro's Control Centre in Cooma, NSW,


The Hunter Power Station Project is expected to have approximately 660 megawatts and will be generated via two heavy-duty open cycle gas turbines, and the turbines functionality will be incorporated into the facility.

Operations is considered a backup function in the case that gas supply to the site is not available, this will connect into the existing electricity transmission, infrastructure is located near the Site and anticipated to be fully operational and anticipated by the end of January 2024.


The Opportunity:


UGL Utilities division is seeking an experienced Stores and Logistics Supervisor for a Power Station project based in the Hunter Valley region.


Reporting to the Superintendent and as a Stores and Logistics Supervisor you will deliver high quality project services to the client and provide supervision and coordination as directed by the Superintendent / Construction Manager regarding the stores, laydowns and logistics on site.


You will have a complete understanding of the required contractual KPI's and obligations and ensure safe and effective operation of the project whilst promoting Safety and Quality Assurance, technical assistance, and sound business practices.


Some key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Planning and organizing the required plant for unloading of deliveries.
  • Ensure materials leaving site are loaded and secured following chain of responsibility requirements.
  • Supervise and maintain control records, planning and layout of store and receipt, packing and dispatch of goods.
  • Ensure full QA and HSSE documentation and systems are properly followed, ensuring Projects have adequate coverage and support
  • Maintain constant open communication with and clear direction for all relevant staff, always remaining acutely aware of all tasks and activity on the project.
  • Ensure all relevant compliance and staff development training takes place to ensure project's needs are met.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate systems and procedures specific to site works to ensure that they are up to date, compliant and up to date in line with best practice.
  • Select and train of all team members, building a high skilled, performance focused, innovative, to ensure a passionate team.
  • Performance Development sessions with all direct reports in line with Company policy including consequence management where required and developmental requirements aligned with succession plans.

About You:


  • 5 years' experience in leadership stores and logistics roles
  • You will have clear communication, solid lines of control and delegation to actively create and maintain a culture of openness, responsiveness, honest, ethics and responsibility across the team.
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and priorities demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and followthrough within a fastpaced environment with multiple and competing demands
