Carey Libraries are focused on providing best practice resources and support for teaching and learning at Carey Baptist Grammar School.

Carey Donvale is seeking a Teacher Librarian who will lead and promote quality teaching amongst the D.R Brown Library Resource Centre team and Donvale Junior School staff; ensuring the delivery of innovative and exciting literacy education to the students and staff of the Junior School.

Reporting to the Head of Carey Libraries and Head of Junior School - Donvale, this full-time, on-going position has an as soon as possible start date.

The Teacher Librarian will work closely with the Library Technician as well as all staff at Donvale to provide an engaging and dynamic library program.

The Teacher Librarian at Donvale is also part of the broader Library team, encampassing the Junior School - Kew and Centre for Innovation & Learning.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Teacher Librarianship qualifications or willingness to undertake suitable professional development to obtain qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in teaching
High level knowledge of and passion for early childhood to young adult literature
Ability to develop dynamic programs of wide reading and literature celebration
Organisational excellence
Previous experience working with Library Management Systems
Specific expertise and experience in leading literacy teams is desirable

A valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment for this position.
